Craziness…So a L.A. based pop artist thought that Rihanna’s battered face pic that was leaked by the LAPD was so interesting that he made it into a art piece that is currently being displayed in a Hollywood art exhibit.

“I thought the bruises in the police photo were interesting shapes to draw,” said Sham Ibrahim of his 24-inch by 36-inch portrait, which reflects four custom colorized blow-ups of digital tracings of the police picture onto canvas. “And it was cool to color them pink and blue. Those are two of my favorite colors.”    

The artist says that his painting has no underlying message and he doesn’t support domestic violence. “There is no message to any of my art,” he says. “It’s meant to look cool hanging on your wall and that’s it! I’m not into deep meanings.” 

The painting is currently on display at Wonder Storefront Gallery’s new group show, Name That ‘Toon. Hmmm I wonder how Rihanna feels about this…

Rihanna is gettin’ back to work. She landed in NYC to meet up with film agents about several pending projects on the big screen. NY Daily News reveals that the superstar is up for the lead role in a POSSIBLE remake of Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner 1992 hit “The Bodyguard”. Rihanna may also be up for the role in a third Charlie’s Angels sequel. While Rihanna may be getting more work, Chris Brown was in L.A. trying to sort out his case. We hear that his lawyers are trying to formalize a plea deal if only Rihanna will testify that she hit him first and Chris was only defending himself. Sorry Ri Ri, if the LAPD picture didn’t get leaked, maybe someone would believe that.

TMZ has revealed that the text message that ignited the violent altercation between Chris Brown and Rihanna was from Brown’s manager, Tina Davis, who is 40. As you may recall, Brown was rumored to have had a fling with Davis when he was just 16. It brought about much controversy, until Chris Brown started to date Rihanna.

Well, law enforcement tells TMZ that Tina Davis texted Chris three times and talked about “hooking” up later. When Rihanna snatched the phone from Chris and read the text messages, she was very upset and ended up slapping him and hitting him with the heel of her show, then Brown brutally fired back!

The detective’s affidavit refers to the text message as being “from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.” Hmmmm? Interesting…

Rihanna has been travelling to various locations to protect her privacy since the Feb. 8th altercation between her and Chris Brown. However, the 21 year old star was spotted on a beach in Punta Mita, Mexico. The images were allegedly shot at a private villa on Saturday after she celebrated her milestone birthday in L.A. the night before. She looks so sad to me. Doesn’t she?

Yesterday the L.A. district attorney’s office said the investigation was still open and no decision on charges has been made.

Rihanna was spotted going to LAX Airport this past weekend (see below pix). This is the first picture of the pop star since the alleged assualt by her boyfriend, Chris Brown. Rihanna’s reps released an official statement after the LAPD picture of her battered face was revealed on the net:

“At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown,” reads a statement released by the singer last Friday. “She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.”

In related news, NY Daily News reports that Chris Brown bought Rihanna a diamond bracelet and necklace along with an iPod Touch for her recent birthday. “Chris called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday,” a NY Daily News insider revealed on Monday. (more…)

WOW! TMZ has obtained a photo of Rihanna taken after Chris Brown allegedly beat her.  The photo was leaked and LAPD is doing an internal investigation as to who did it!

The media is having a field day with the “Chrianna” drama! The latest on Life&Style Magazine is that Rihanna’s says she didn’t break up with Chris Brown after the violent altercation. I’m sure its just another tabloid trying to cash in on the situation, but you never know…

In related news, E! Online reported that after the altercation, sales of Rihanna’s multiplatinum-selling 2007 album, Good Girl Gone Bad, surged 31% this week, selling 25,000 copies in the U.S. and putting Rihanna at No. 31 on the Billboard charts.

After Chris Brown broke his silence relative to the domestic altercation between him and his now “ex-girlfriend”, Rihanna’s camp have declined to make an official statement of their own. Sources close to Rihanna say that she is “appalled” by Brown’s statement. “All of us, including Rihanna, don’t understand how he can say he’s sorry on the one hand, but still… does not admit any guilt,” a Barbados pal of Rihanna tells the Chicago Sun-Times. “He should have expressed more contrition.” Rihanna supposedly said that Brown’s statement over this weekend was a “cavalier and arrogant statement.” Chris Brown is due in court March 5.
