Craziness…So a L.A. based pop artist thought that Rihanna’s battered face pic that was leaked by the LAPD was so interesting that he made it into a art piece that is currently being displayed in a Hollywood art exhibit.

“I thought the bruises in the police photo were interesting shapes to draw,” said Sham Ibrahim of his 24-inch by 36-inch portrait, which reflects four custom colorized blow-ups of digital tracings of the police picture onto canvas. “And it was cool to color them pink and blue. Those are two of my favorite colors.”    

The artist says that his painting has no underlying message and he doesn’t support domestic violence. “There is no message to any of my art,” he says. “It’s meant to look cool hanging on your wall and that’s it! I’m not into deep meanings.” 

The painting is currently on display at Wonder Storefront Gallery’s new group show, Name That ‘Toon. Hmmm I wonder how Rihanna feels about this…

Rihanna is gettin’ back to work. She landed in NYC to meet up with film agents about several pending projects on the big screen. NY Daily News reveals that the superstar is up for the lead role in a POSSIBLE remake of Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner 1992 hit “The Bodyguard”. Rihanna may also be up for the role in a third Charlie’s Angels sequel. While Rihanna may be getting more work, Chris Brown was in L.A. trying to sort out his case. We hear that his lawyers are trying to formalize a plea deal if only Rihanna will testify that she hit him first and Chris was only defending himself. Sorry Ri Ri, if the LAPD picture didn’t get leaked, maybe someone would believe that.

TMZ has revealed that the text message that ignited the violent altercation between Chris Brown and Rihanna was from Brown’s manager, Tina Davis, who is 40. As you may recall, Brown was rumored to have had a fling with Davis when he was just 16. It brought about much controversy, until Chris Brown started to date Rihanna.

Well, law enforcement tells TMZ that Tina Davis texted Chris three times and talked about “hooking” up later. When Rihanna snatched the phone from Chris and read the text messages, she was very upset and ended up slapping him and hitting him with the heel of her show, then Brown brutally fired back!

The detective’s affidavit refers to the text message as being “from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.” Hmmmm? Interesting…

Rihanna has been travelling to various locations to protect her privacy since the Feb. 8th altercation between her and Chris Brown. However, the 21 year old star was spotted on a beach in Punta Mita, Mexico. The images were allegedly shot at a private villa on Saturday after she celebrated her milestone birthday in L.A. the night before. She looks so sad to me. Doesn’t she?

Yesterday the L.A. district attorney’s office said the investigation was still open and no decision on charges has been made.

Rihanna was spotted going to LAX Airport this past weekend (see below pix). This is the first picture of the pop star since the alleged assualt by her boyfriend, Chris Brown. Rihanna’s reps released an official statement after the LAPD picture of her battered face was revealed on the net:

“At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown,” reads a statement released by the singer last Friday. “She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.”

In related news, NY Daily News reports that Chris Brown bought Rihanna a diamond bracelet and necklace along with an iPod Touch for her recent birthday. “Chris called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday,” a NY Daily News insider revealed on Monday. “He’s absolutely trying to get back into her good graces. He knows he’s very much in the doghouse right now, and is doing everything he can to show her how sorry he is.” Not sure how true this is…

The media is having a field day with the “Chrianna” drama! The latest on Life&Style Magazine is that Rihanna’s says she didn’t break up with Chris Brown after the violent altercation. I’m sure its just another tabloid trying to cash in on the situation, but you never know…

In related news, E! Online reported that after the altercation, sales of Rihanna’s multiplatinum-selling 2007 album, Good Girl Gone Bad, surged 31% this week, selling 25,000 copies in the U.S. and putting Rihanna at No. 31 on the Billboard charts.

After Chris Brown broke his silence relative to the domestic altercation between him and his now “ex-girlfriend”, Rihanna’s camp have declined to make an official statement of their own. Sources close to Rihanna say that she is “appalled” by Brown’s statement. “All of us, including Rihanna, don’t understand how he can say he’s sorry on the one hand, but still… does not admit any guilt,” a Barbados pal of Rihanna tells the Chicago Sun-Times. “He should have expressed more contrition.” Rihanna supposedly said that Brown’s statement over this weekend was a “cavalier and arrogant statement.” Chris Brown is due in court March 5.

RIHANNA/CHRIS BROWN UPDATE: Rihanna has reportedly told detectives that Chris Brown choked her during their altercation and threatened to “kill her” as they fought on a neighborhood street in Los Angeles. It’s being reported that police may suggest attempted murder charges against Brown when the case is handed over to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office. Now I really think things are getting out of hand!

Some of you are asking just how bad Rihanna’s injuries were after the “alleged” physical altercation between her and boyfriend, Chris Brown. We hear Rihanna was been discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medica Center. The hospital allowed her to secretly leave the medical center through a back door to avoid paparazzi. There are more details as to her injuries, although they have yet to be confirmed. Sources told TMZ and People.com that Rihanna came to the hospital with black and blue bruices and knots to the side of her forehead (don’t laugh!), swollen and split lip, along with a bloody nose and bite marks. Again, these were not confirmed results from the hospital. So lets not jump to judgment just yet!

Rihanna’s grandmother, Clara Brathwaite, told a Barbados newsreporter ” I don’t want people to worry,” Brathwaite explained. “Rihanna is fine and she is doing well.” The Barbados-born singer’s grandmother also shot down speculation that Rihanna endured a broken nose during the fight.

Chris Brown, who was arrested this past Sunday, was charged with criminal threats, but Police say that more charges may be tagged along to that after the case is handed over to the L.A. District Attorney’s Office. Although Rihanna is cooperating with authorities, we hear that she is relunctant to talk about why they began fighting. 

Fellow Gossip Blogger, Janet Charlton “xposed” that  “Rihanna had supposedly found numbers in Chris’s phone that he shouldn’t have. She grabbed the car keys and pretended to toss them out the window. He freaked out and let her have it. And we also heard this has happened before.” Not sure if this is accurate! We can all come up with several theories, but nobody knows the real true story but Rihanna and Chris. Nevertheless, the situation is truly sad.

Rihanna has cancelled her Malaysian tour stop, and also cancelled her Carnival Themed 21st Birthday Party which was suppose to take place in NYC. As previously reported, Chris Brown was dropped from Wrigley and “Got Milk” campaign which were too big endorsements for the R&B sensation.

This story gets more strange by the hour. So after Chris Brown posted bail late last night, Breezy and his possibly “battered” girlfriend Rihanna were spotted getting gas at a L.A. fuel station around 1 a.m. Witnesses say that Rihanna looked spaced out while sitting in the car. The two tried to dodge paparazzi and ended up speeding off and running a red light.

UPDATE: I believe these pictures were taken BEFORE the “pre-grammy” incident, even though several media outlets are reporting that these were taken post Chris Brown’s arrest.  To Be Determined…We’ll continue to keep you posted!

So now we hear that Rihanna’s reps have confirmed that Rihanna will not be at the Grammys because she got into a car accident this morning which left her face injured.A Grammy representative told ET that the singer’s face is slightly bruised from the accident and no announcement has been made as to who will be taking her place on stage.

OKAY! Is this a coincidence or is this someone trying to pull one on me…We just reported that Chris Brown is under investigation by the LAPD for allegedly hitting an unidentified woman early this morning. Chris Brown’s reps say he will not be at the Grammys. Now we hear Rihanna won’t be at the Grammys due to an injury on her face from a car accident! WTF? This is way to wierd!

Rihanna is really doing the damn thang…I announced last week that Rihanna will be performing at the Inauguration for President-elect Barack Obama. Now we hear that she will join Enrique Iglesias, Fall Out Boy and Lifehouse for the National Football League’s Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash at Tampa, Florida’s Ford Amphitheatre. The Super Bowl Bash will air live on VH1 Thursday, January 29th, at 9 pm. Jerry O’Connell will host the star-studded concert.

Congrats to Rihanna. She will be taking part in the inaugural celebration for our President elect Barack Obama. She has been chosen to headline the Recording Industry Association of America’s Presidential Inauguration Charity Ball, to benefit Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization.

Vicki Escarra, who is the president and CEO of Feeding America, revealed to People.com: “We could not be happier that Rihanna will be performing at the Inauguration charity ball to benefit Feeding America. “Rihanna’s involvement will help raise awareness about the prevalence of hunger in America and help bring more aid to the 36 million Americans who do not always know where they will find their next meal.”

Other celebs such as Sting will be performing at the Creative Coalition ball and Kanye West may be performing at the Impact Film Fund Ball, per People.com.

Chris Brown and his girl Rihanna are being sued for $1Million! A photographer has filed a lawsuit claiming that he was beaten and robbed by the singers’ bodyguards back in May in St. Petersburg, FL. During Chris’ bday party, Luis Santana, 25, was left battered and bruised after being attacked after trying to take pictures of the couple outside the Vintage nightclub. Santana works for a local newspaper…he even took pictures of his bodily injuries for evidence. Additionally, his $3,000 camera was stolen and then smashed. He is also suing three other bodyguards and the nightclub. Oh boy!

For the past few years we’ve heard stupid rumors about the Bey/Rihanna/Jay-Z love triangle. Even after Jay married his girl Beyonce, people still talked about how Rihanna and Jay had a secret relationship going on. Well, Rihanna’s ex-Publicist…said he started all the rumors!

In an interview with Associated Content, publicist Jonathan Hay comes clean about creating the bogus rumor. Hay has a “tell all” book coming out entitled Publicity Stunt: The Art of Noise. Hay XPOSES different situations during his tenure as a publicist. The most significant, perhaps, may be his involvement with Rihanna.

Hay speaks of trying to get Rihanna and the producer of her first single “Pon De Replay” Vada Nobles some light in a crowded pop music field. After failed attempts to push “Pon De Replay” to the masses, Hay then reveals that he made up stories to get the artist some attention. I guess thats how it works these days!

“Along with one of my partners, I then began to fabricate stories of Rihanna and Jay-Z, leaking false rumors to tabloids, working internet message boards, etc,” Hay reveals. “We started to get an insane amount of media coverage very fast. There are so many things we did that people don’t even know about, not even Rihanna herself.”

He also revealed what rumors he did start, saying “Like when the rumor surfaced that Jay-Z had a new love life and was cheating on Beyonce…that was just to get attention,”  “Rihanna had nothing to do with ANY of that, nor did she know what we were doing.”

Hay says he feels bad for what he did, but felt he needed to do it for his client.

“Rihanna is one of the biggest stars in the world now, and look at how she stormed into the business!” Hay continues. “Not to take anything from her – she is a great artist – but every artist needs a launching pad and there is nothing better than a good scandal to get the public’s attention.”
