While he sits behind piano desk playing some riffs, Jessica is seen lying on the bed lip-syncing the song. Its beautiful! “The Sweetest Love” was written and produced by Robin himself of course. R&B throwback, Jon B., is saying that Robin Thicke owes him for giving white boys a chance in R&B. Jon B says he challenges Robin Thicke to a piano and vocal challenge…Who do you think would win? Check out Jon B’s interview here:

“Listen man, you have your career and I have mine. If it came down to a battle situation, where we were piano to piano, vocals to vocals, and he really wanted to test skills on some wild competitive type of stuff we could make it happen.” – Jon B on a battle with Thicke.

“I paved the way for a lot of white artists now that don’t have to deal with the stigma of being a white artist. I don’t think that people would be as open for non-African American artists like that if it I didn’t take a lot of the slack for them.” – Jon B on originally holding it down for white Soul artists.

Congrats to T.I. Debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Chart this week is T.I. with his sixth solo album titled Paper Trail. Paper Trail earns a gold plaque in its opening week by scanning 569,300 discs. The album is hottt I must admit. No.2 on the charts is Jennifer Hudson pushing an impressive 225,000 in her first week. Robin Thicke takes the No. 3 spot selling 140,000 copies in his first week.

Something Else is the third studio album by American R&B singer Robin Thicke. The album was released TODAY! Its great! The first single “Magic” leaked onto the internet May 14, 2008. The second single “The Sweetest Love” is being leaked now, and its beautiful!

WOW…Robin Thicke “xposes” Vibe Magazine in an interview with Billboard magazine wherein he says that Vibe denied him a cover shot because he is WHITE!

“When I did a recent interview with Vibe Magazine I asked, ‘Why can’t I get the cover? This is a magazine I love. If there’s one magazine that I’d want to be on the cover of, it’s Vibe,” Thicke told Billboard. “Their response was they don’t have white artists on the cover; that the only white artist they’ve had on the cover was Eminem. I guess if that’s what it is, it is what it is.”

“I respect that because I live in a house with a black woman. I won’t use the word racism. I will say it’s a tough — but rewarding — fight.”
Danyel Smith, Vibe vice president, responded to Thicke’s comments, but didn’t deny them either:

       “We have a great deal of respect for Robin Thicke and his music, and we remain flattered by his desire to be on a Vibe cover,” said Smith. “A Vibe cover is a huge milestone in any artist’s career. Recent cover stars include Young Jeezy, Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, Usher, Senator Barack Obama, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Robert De Niro, to say nothing of our 15-year history. We wish Thicke the best, and were glad he discusses his thoughts on race and R&B in the new October 2008 issue of Vibe.”

Halle celebrated her 42nd birthday on Thursday night. Berry and her baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry, got a musical surprise while attending a recent Robin Thicke performance at Hollywood’s House of Blues. At the end of his show, Thicke told the crowd that a very special lady is in the audience and she’s celebrating a birthday. The entire crowd  looked to the Oscar-winning actress as the R&B star serenaded her with the “Happy Birthday” song. Awww I wish that was me! Love that man!

At the end of the evening, Thicke’s wife Paula Patton (sitting with an energy-filled P-Diddy and his buddies who, says an onlooker, “were going crazy!”) gave Berry a big hug before Berry, leading her boy Gabriel by the hand, was led to a waiting black Escalade.

Berry looks hella good for 42! Doesn’t she?

Robin Thicke’s album “Something Else” also due in stores September 9th

Robin Thicke will be coming out with a new album very soon! His third album, titled “Something Else,” hits stores in September which will be powered by a promotional tour beginning in August. Thicke described this album as a further expansion of his last album “The Evolution of Robin Thicke”. His first single from his latest project is called “Magic”. Have you heard it yet? Love this song! Its already in heavy rotation on local radio stations.

Robin Thicke was prepared and proud to preview his upcoming album entitled “Something Else” at a listening party held in LA on Wednesday. Before playing his anticipated album, he thanked Interscope for the ‘honor to do this one more time’ and declared that the listening soiree was ‘a celebration. It’s the Barack Obama era: yes, we can!’ LOL! The album is set to drop on July 1 under the Star Trak/Interscope label. The first single will be “Magic” which is an uptempo song described by Billboard as  “a further expansion of the sultry, classic R&B sound that powered his 2006 breakthrough, ‘The Evolution of Robin Thicke.” They were right on the money with that description! Even though Thicke’s last album had cameos including Lil Wayne, Faith Evans and Pharrell, this album will feature no guests…Simply Robin Thicke!

I knew it! A couple of weeks ago, we suspected that Robin Thicke and his wife were expecting. We were right! Essence.com has confirmed the two are expecting their first child due this Spring. HOW CUTE! Congrats!

Rumor has it that Paula Patton, Robin Thicke’s wife, is preggers!  From the looks of Paula Patton’s midsection at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club opening in Vegas on New Years Eve, she looks like she is well into her pregnancy (Check out the pic above)…But then again, it could have been the dress! Robin Thicke’s reps refuse to comment on the rumor. We’ll keep you posted!

Robin Thicke has been told by a doctor to rest his vocal due to an undisclosed vocal ailment. He has been forced to put a hold  on his U.S. tour this week.  “All tour dates must be rescheduled due to doctor-ordered vocal rest until the end of the year,” said a Sunday (11/11) blog posting at Thicke’s MySpace page. “Thank you for your understanding and support.” he says.

Robin Thicke will continue promoting his “Evolution” CD throughout the fall with 14 new dates to begin Nov. 11 in Englewood, CO.  Though he’s still riding high on the success of his current album, the performer – and son of actors Alan Thicke and Gloria Loring – is already working on his next record and has about half of the material written, according to various reports.
