Jay-Z will never retire. Timbaland has revealed to MTV that legendary rapper has brought him on to produce his next LP. “He wants me to do the whole thing this time around,” Timbaland revealed. “I’mma make it a classic too. You better believe it. It’ll be a monster! I always say this: You get a first single from me, I’mma get you up to gold. And it’s hard to get you up to gold in this day .” Tim was confidant enough to say that the LP featuring him and Jay would sell more than the 500,000 copies needed for a gold record, as they’re both international platinum artists. “Jay should never chill,” he said about the rapper’s decision to return to music full time. “We had a long talk, and I really talked to him. Jay-Z does it for the love. That’s different. When somebody does it for the love, you don’t stop. He has everything, but he’s still current. A million people are buying his album regardless.”
As previously reported, Timbaland married his fiance Monique Idlett in an informal ceremony in Virginia…but they had planned a lavish wedding in Aruba which happened yesterday (Sunday).
Approximately 300 people were invited and recieved feather-filled clear invitation to the wedding in Oranjestad, the capital of the island. Guests included Missy Elliott, Omarion, rapper Magoo, singer Keri Hilson, Ginuwine, producer Nate “Danja” Hills and Interscope/Geffen Chairman Jimmy Iovine.
Timbaland married his girlfriend/fiance music exec Monique Idlett recently. We heard that the two married in their gym clothes in Virginia on Tuesday by a family pastor. No lie! The couple will have a formal ceremony in Aruba on June 22. The two had a baby girl named Reign last year. Timbaland also has a son from a previous relationship. The hit producer popped the question to Monique at her baby shower.
Check out Madonna, Justin Timberlake, and Timbaland’s Xclusive premiere of their “4 Minutes” video. I really like this song!
Pop star Madonna has revealed the name of her new album and has tapped a number of Hip-Hop producers to help her craft the album sonically. The album titled Hard Candy, features production by Pharrell Williams, Timbaland and Nate “Danja” Hills. With those producers on board, the album should get great reviews…
On a recent Atlanta radio interview, Timbaland squashed the ongoing beef with fellow producer Scott Storch. The beef started after Storch accused Timbaland of stealing credit for the production on Justin Timberlake’s 2002 hit, “Cry Me A River”. Storch claimed he co-wrote and played piano on the track. Timbaland dissed Storch on his hit “Give It To Me”, which featured Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, saying “I’m a real producer and you just a piano man.”
Not only is Marion Jones and others in the world of sports being investigated for steriod use, but rappers 50 Cent and Wyclef Jean have been named in an ongoing steriod trafficking investigation. Included also are Mary J. Blige, Timbaland, and Tyler Perry…WTF? According to records reviewed by the Times Union, 50 Cent, Blige and the other stars received prescriptions that allegedly were signed by Dr. Gary Brandwein, a South Florida osteopath who pleaded not guilty in Albany to a felony indictment, that charged him with various drug-related crimes. Brandwein recently made news after reports surfaced that he previously prescribed steroids for deceased WWE pro wrestler Chris Benoit. He is currently free on bond.
The video and single features Nicole Scherzinger and Keri Hilson. The video will premiere on January 15th on Yahoo Music. Check out a sneak preview:
Timbaland has confirmed that he is expecting his first child and will also be married after proposing to his girlfriend. However, a rapper from the Mosley Group record label said that the recent report by the New York Post which stated that, “Timbaland is mixing business and pleasure – and is about to become a baby daddy…” is inaccurate! Rapper D.O.E. dispels the rumors originally published on November 19 in the Page Six section.
