Have you had enough of the “Madea” films, or are you ready for more? Tyler Perry has chosen Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson for his next Madea Film called “I Can Do Bad All By Myself,” based on his stage play of the same name. Production of the film will start on March 16th at Perry’s new studio in Atlanta. It is scheduled for nationwide release via Lionsgate on Sept. 11.

After the filming of that movie, he will begin filming “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too,” a sequel to 2007’s “Why Did I Get Married.” Lionsgate revealed that it will hit theaters on April 2, 2010, Easter weekend. Can’t wait for that!

Tyler Perry will be turning the big 40 soon and he plans to reward himself in a HUGE way. The star will be treating himself to the ultimate present by buying his own private island. Perry, who recently enjoyed a holiday on a private island in the Bahamas’ Great Exumas, says, “I’m a loner by nature, so when I’m out there on these islands, I just feel like the only person in the world.” Perry says he will not be naming his island after himself. “It won’t be Tyler Perry’s Island! I’m so sick of seeing Tyler Perry all over everywhere! I’ll know what to call it once I’m there. It’ll speak to me.”

Jennifer Hudson may land a role in the next Tyler Perry flick. Tyler Perry says he wrote the film just for Jennifer Hudson, according to People.com. Perry didn’t want to share the details of the project, but confirmed Hudson was interested in working with thim. Who wouldn’t be?

“I just wrote a movie for her that I’m really excited about,” the filmmaker, 39, told PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of Madea Goes to Jail, which was number 1 in the box office. “I’m hoping she’ll be able to do it.”

Unfortunately, her rep tells PEOPLE, “She will not be doing the film as she’ll be on tour at the same time they are shooting.” But you never know…

Perry revealed,  “[Jennifer] says that she’s been wanting to work with me for a a very long time and I definitely want to work with her. We just have to find the right time.”

Tyler Perry should be a happy man! “Madea Goes To Jail” had the biggest box office opening of Perry’s career! “Madea Goes To Jail” topped the weekend’s films with a $41.1 million debut.

According to the Associated Press, studio estimates put the film’s earnings as the grossing film ever for both Perry and the film’s studio, Lionsgate. Since Perry’s 2005 “Diary of a Mad Black Woman,” the actor-director-producer has frequently opened films strongly, despite little mainstream recognition. His previous best opening weekend was for his second film, “Madea’s Family Reunion,” which started with $30 million in 2006. Four of Perry’s seven films have made their debut at No. 1.

Tyler Perry was in New York City for the special screening of his movie “Madea Goes to Jail” which comes out tomorrow! He threw an after party at TAO nightclub later that night. Check out the star studded pics:

After the success of Tyler Perry’s movie “Why Did I Get Married”, the playwriter has decided to follow up with a sequal tentatively entitled “Why Did I get Married too”. The new movie hopes for the return of the original cast members, which includes Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Tasha Smith, Sharon Leal, Malik Yoba, Richard T. Jones and Michael Jai White. In an interview with Black Voices, Perry says there is so much more he wanted to say in that film but he wouldn’t reveal the details of the new storyline.

Why do a sequel to the film?

TP: Because there is so much I want to say. There’s not another film that I have written that I felt like there’s more to say; and there’s more say in ‘Why Did I Get Married Too.’

Will it the same cast or a new group of actors?

TP: It will be the same cast. Everybody. I won’t do it without the original cast.

What’s the storyline?

TP: I can’t talk about it now, but it’s going to be great.

In more related news, six construction firms have filed liens against Perry’s house and his new movie studio. The court papers show that Perry’s unpaid bills from the two projects total slightly less than $200,000. We hear that Tyler Perry wanted to give six contractors a lesson for applying a “Tyler Perry Tax” on his property and not doing a good job on constructing his new mansion. “There’s a Tyler Perry tax that’s put on things,” Perry said in one of two interviews last week. “I’ve seen the worst of what people can be, the worst of what family members can be,” he said. “I pride myself on taking care of my business. I pride myself on being able to pay the bills.” But “I’m not sympathetic to anybody who’s trying to rip me off. Just because I’m a Christian, just because I’m a nice guy, it doesn’t mean I’m a wimp.”

Tyler Perry has announced that he is selling his 17,000 sq ft. home in Fairburn, GA for $3,695,000.00. The property has 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, a 4,000 Sq Foot master bedroom and a grand salon. The home was featured in Perry’s first feature film “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”. I wonder why he is selling this house. Its gorgeous!!!!!

UPDATE: Okay, I got the story clear now…My girl Dymond informed me that Perry is selling is house because he is building an even bigger one. According to AJC.com, Tyler Perry, creator of the “House of Payne” TV show, is building his dream home on a 17-acre tract he bought off Paces Ferry along the Chattahoochee River. The 30,000-square-foot French provincial mansion should be ready by Thanksgiving. But Perry’s purchase of the property in 2005 has put him into a drama more bizarre than any play he’s written or movie he’s produced.

The listing from Coldwell Banker for the gated estate located at 9620 Cedar Grove Rd. says:  “Behind the stunning mahogany double doors you will find an unbelievable foyer with marble floors, two vast sitting areas, a floating mahogany staircase leading to an exquisite grand salon, all with dramatic ceilings over 20 feet high. The gourmet kitchen features a two story ceiling with a double-sided fireplace. The spacious family room has dramatic French doors leading to the pool and terrace.” The master bedroom “features an enormous sitting area, his and her custom closet over looking the stunning master bathroom.” There is also a theater room, study, and professional gym on the property.

Whoopi Goldberg, Tyra Banks, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry appear on Entertainment Weekly’s 25 Smartest People in TV, a list of small-screen titans who are driving today’s sharpest shows and deals. Winfrey came in 6th on the tally because “her talk show still rules daytime, her first foray into reality (’Oprah’s Big Give’) averaged 11.6 million viewers, and she’ll launch her own network — appropriately named OWN — in 2009,” said Entertainment weekly. Atlanta-based mogul Perry ranked 4th for proving that “one need not exist within the borders of Hollywood to become an industry heavyweight. Seth MacFarlane, the executive producer of “Family Guy,” “American Dad” and the forthcoming “The Cleveland Show,” topped the list.

Producer/writer/actor Tyler Perry faces federal charges in a copyright infringement lawsuit brought by a woman who claims his 2005 film “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” was copied from an original story she wrote in 1990.

According to KSLA News 12, Perry’s company Tyler Perry Studios, and Lionsgate Entertainment, were also named in the suit which was filed by Donna West in May 2007. West is seeking all profits made from “Diary” as well as damages. West says she wrote a story called “Fantasy of a Black Woman” in 1990. She got a copyright for the film in 2006. Perry’s lawyers said that West has no grounds to sue because she didn’t register her work until after the allegations. “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” debut February 2005.

Opening arguments begin December 3 at the U.S. Federal Courthouse in Marshall, Texas.

Tyler Perry unveiled a new multimillion-dollar TV and film studio on 30 acres in southwest Atlanta this past weekend. Many big name celebrities attended the gala for first major television and movie studio owned and run by an African-American film producer. From Academy Award winning actor Sidney Poitier to Oprah Winfrey, everyone was there. Check out the pics.

“Even though it was a studio there for 15 years, there was a lot of resistance in everything I was doing,” Perry said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press last week. “I was thinking about leaving at one point, but this is home for me.”

Perry said he knew the new location would be an improvement. His old building was on property zoned commercial, but the street next to it is residential. “I knew spiritually I was in the wrong place,” said Perry, whose projects include “Tyler Perry’s the Family That Preys.”

“You can never be upset with the people who forced you into your dream or up higher,” he said. “They forced me out into a higher situation. It’s worked out much better for me.”

Love this dude! Tyler Perry spent Tuesday morning at Hosea Feed the Hungry and the Homless Care Center in Atlanta to hand out food to those in need. The director of the recent film “The Family That Preys” said he felt compelled to help out after hearing about the center’s efforts on the news. “I had to do something,” Perry told the AP. As you may know, Perry was once homeless in his New Orleans hometown. So this hit close to home. He donated enough food to feed 1,000 families for the next two weeks. “I’ve been out on the street, I know what it’s about,” said Perry. “I couldn’t imagine doing that with children looking at me for food.”

I guess Tyler Perry didn’t want to help a family member out! LOL. So, how about Tyler Perry’s cousin, Marlon Campbell attempted to use his famous cousin’s name to try to promote his independant film, “Oblivious”. After Perry and his lawyers got word of the marketing scheme, they quickly sent a letter to Campbell stating that any connection between Tyler’s work and “Oblivious” is “intentionally misleading” and “wrongfully infringes upon the economic value of Mr. Perry.”  LOL!      

Time Magazine’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people included filmmaker Tyler Perry, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and singer Mariah Carey which join the likes of President Bush, the Dalai Lama and Miley Cyrus. Time Magazine announced on Thursday that the cut included 30 celebs whose appearance on the list was based soley on votes on the magazine’s website.  Oprah  Winfrey was cited alongside fellow “influential” entertainers Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Mia Farrow as “heroes and pioneers” for global goodwill.  Others making the list include finance adviser Suze Orman, actor George Clooney, media mogul Rupert Murdoch, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, China’s Hu Jintao, and Obama’s fellow presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and John McCain.

Actress Keshia Knight Pulliam is booked for a new gig…playing a prostitute! LOL….The actress who is best known as her role playing little Rudy Huxtable from the sitcom “The Cosby Show,” will play an imprisoned prostitute in the upcoming film “Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail.” Pulliam, 29, will play a young lady by the name of Candy, a prisoner who comes to learn valuable life lesson from new inmate, Madea. Madea who is arrested for stealing gas and leading police on a highway chase, arrives in Candy’s cell block and after building a trusting relationship with her, Candy asks Madea to take custody of her daughter, Toni, once she Madea is set free. Co-star, Derek Luke, will play an attorney who had a “past” with Candy.

Pulliam, a Spelman College grad, recently appeared in Perry’s TBS series “House of Payne” and is launching an Atlanta-based production company for film and television projects that she has in development.

UH OH! Tyler Perry has a stalker! Our spies sent me the email Mr. Perry sent out to his staff at Tyler Perry Studios which mentioned that he is dealing with a stalker who has planned a wedding for them. WTF?

Hi Everybody,

Okay, I know that I haven’t written in a while but I’ve been dealing with
a situation.

“I’m trying to be careful how I say this without inciting this person, but
I have a stalker. This person sends several hundred emails a day to my
office and has planned our wedding and bought rings and such. She has
showed up at my house several times. What’s crazy is I’ve never met this
woman nor have I even responded to her emails.

I’ve had to increase the guards at my house as well as travel with body guards and I hate that. I hate to have big guys following me around. Anyway I’ll try to keep this positive. Let me breathe…”
