“Meet the Browns” was a big hit in the box office this past weekend. The Tyler Perry produced film grossed a whopping $20 million on 2,000 screenings according Exhibator Relations. Tyler Perry is currently writing a screenplay relative to the life of Michelle Obama, the wife of Barack Obama. According to entertainment writer, Sonya Jenkins’ website, Perry said in an interview that he was inspired by the wife of the Democratic presidential nominee. “I was just inspired by Michelle and Barack Obama to write a new script that is phenomenal,” Perry said. “I’m writing it right now. Just watching him in the debate with Hillary and meeting him and Michelle and having dinner with them inspired this amazing story. “It’s a love story with a little political twist. It’s called, ‘For the Love of You,’ and it’s about Barack’s love for his woman.” (more…)

Tyler Perry keeps outdoing himself! He has left a huge impact on stage and on the big screen, and now he has decided to bring his characters to a CARTOON series. The playwright-turned-filmmaker has partnered with animation company Exodus Film Group for the untitled series, which will be produced entirely up front before shopping to a network or releasing on DVD.  “After receiving thousands of letters from parents telling me how much their kids love Madea and realizing that a lot of the plays were not kid friendly,” said Perry, “I wanted to do something more appropriate, and this seems to be it. Tyler Perry may have a part in the upcoming remake of the film “Star Trek,”. This will be Tyler’s first time participating in a movie outside of his own written and produced projects. Love this man!

Tyler Perry has a new girlfriend, and he is showing off his young tender-roni. Tyler Perry brought his Ethiopian Model, Gelil Bekele to the LA red carpet premiere for his film “Why Did I Get Married?” (best film ever). She is much younger than him, but in several interview (Oprah/Regis) he spoke very highly of his new leading lady. Gelila Bekele is originally from Ethiopia and is currently modeling in NY. She is gorgeous. Now everyone can put he GAY RUMORS about Tyler Perry to Rest! (I think!)

I am not sure if some of you caught this interview with Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson…but if you haven’t seen it yet, you MUST. Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson did an interview on a local Sacramento T V Station to help promote his new movie Why Did I Get Married a reporter tried to be funny and bring up Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction and Tyler Perry stepped in quickly to defend her.
