Republican presidential candidate John McCain appeared on a “Saturday Night Live” broadcast with Usher last season and suddenly, he is calling himself one of the singer’s fans. The Republican presidential nominee says he even has one of his CDs. Is this his ploy to win the black vote! NOT! Try again…

Unfortunately for McCain, Usher is a hardcore Obama fan, as seen in this YouTube video supporting the Democratic candidate:

Even though critics have said that Usher’s latest album wasn’t his best yet, the “numbers don’t lie”. Usher’s new album is titled “Here I Stand” stands on the top of the Billboard album charts. The singer sold 442,930 copies of his latest album, powered by his Polow Da Don-produced hit “Love in this Club,” featuring Young Jeezy. (more…)

On this issue of Vibe magazine, Usher speaks about his work relationship with his mother amongst other things…

“Usher ended his 15-year professional relationship with mother Jonetta Patton just days before Mother’s Day last year. She then missed his wedding to Tameka Foster last August. He admits the pair fell out, over what he considered to be her lack of support, but he has stressed that he parted ways with her for her own sake.”

What do you think about the cover and how he has his wedding ring finger up?

Usher went off on TRL recently defending his wife and the ongoing rumors about his marriage. Usher starts off by saying, “There was a little rumor earlier this week about [my wife and I] separating. It ain’t true. [We're] in love”… “Matter of fact, I’m tired of people continuing to talk so much trash about me. … My wife is not 40 years old. I love her to death and I’m a black, strong man in America standing up for my people—as a man to my wife, to my son, to my family,” he said walking towards the camera. Damien Fahey, the host of the show, seemed a lil freaked out as I am sure this wasn’t part of the set up. Fahey says “That’s it. There’s nothing left to say” … but Usher wasn’t through, LOL. Usher continued by saying “And my wife had nothing to do with me firing my mother [as my manager]—nothing like that, that’s trash. I hear y’all talking crazy out there. [Tameka] is a beautiful black woman. Stop. Stop talking. And I love her. Stop it.” Fahey went on to show Usher’s latest video “Love in this Club”, but Usher insisted that he wasn’t finished with what he had to say… LOL (watch the recap VIDEO here). (more…)

Usher and Jay-Z have collaborated putting a song together regarding the joys of being married to their respective wives.

“Of course, with the talk of both of us now being newlyweds, there is a question as to why, and is it real?” Usher told MTV of the song, which is produced by Janet Jackson’s beau Jermaine Dupri. “Well, if you hear that [song], you’ll understand what [Jay-Z] meant when he says, ‘Seeds becomes plants/ Boys become men/ You’ve got to grow up, not down.’”  

Jay opens up the song with this: “Can’t give a ring up/ I couldn’t give a f—, how could I give a finger?/ Let alone half baths and closets/ So claustrophobic, in fear of close objects.”

Usher’s mom/ex-manager, Jonetta Patton recently launched her own record label “JPat Records”.  She has already signed two artists, R&B group Kwiet Storm and R&B male solo artist Donte J. Even though Usher fired his mother/manager on Mother’s Day of 2007, she continues to run her Atlanta based management company, JPat Management. She is still managing the career of her youngest son, Grammy-nominated producer James “JLack” Lackey and Jive Records R&B artist Natasha. (more…)
