We hear that the creator of the 1960s TV Series, Gilligan’s Island, wants to remake the show for the BIG SCREEN and they may book Beyonce to play the role of the island’s sultry diva Ginger. The creator, Sherwood Schwartz said they want to Juno star Michael Cera to play Gilligan. No official statement has been made regarding the movie, but we will keep you posted.

Tyler Perry has announced that he is selling his 17,000 sq ft. home in Fairburn, GA for $3,695,000.00. The property has 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, a 4,000 Sq Foot master bedroom and a grand salon. The home was featured in Perry’s first feature film “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”. I wonder why he is selling this house. Its gorgeous!!!!!

UPDATE: Okay, I got the story clear now…My girl Dymond informed me that Perry is selling is house because he is building an even bigger one. According to AJC.com, Tyler Perry, creator of the “House of Payne” TV show, is building his dream home on a 17-acre tract he bought off Paces Ferry along the Chattahoochee River. The 30,000-square-foot French provincial mansion should be ready by Thanksgiving. I sorta feel bad for DMX. Nothing good is going for him. We just found out that his Arizona home went into foreclosure. After the Police raided the property in May of 2008, thieves targeted the property many times because the house’s doors were left open and the windows were blown away from the raid. The Realtor, Andrew Wheeler, says that since the home was left unprotected, thieves took advantage of that and stole various items including DMX’s quad bikes and valuables. DMX and his wife paid $600,000 for the property back in 2003, but the local bank has put it up for sale for a lower price tag of $429,000.00. WOW! Poor DMX…hope he gets it together this year! Congrats to Ben Affleck and his wifey Jennifer Garner! They welcomed their second daughter recently, Affleck’s rep confirmed. The couple has a three year old girl named Violet who is excited about her baby sister. No specific details have been released but Garner’s reps say: “Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck gave birth to a healthy baby girl and they are doing just fine.”

I love this couple! They are too cute!

This new single was produced by Polow Da Don and is on her long awaited CD “Fantasy Ride”. Her CD, which was pushed back, is suppose to be out next month (February 2009) or some time in the Spring. The single hits radios sometime soon! HOT OR NOT? Leave us your comments!

Say it aint so! Dru Hill is back…Well Maybe! We hear that the R&B group has confirmed their upcoming reality series called “Platinum House”. The series will follow Sisqo, Jazz, Nokio, and Tao as they TRY to return to the music industry with a comeback album called “InDRUpendence Day”.  Dru Hill was most popular during the late 90s. The reality series will reflect on the changes to the group, the recently publicized departure of ex-group members Woody and Scola, and new member Tao. No date has been released relative to the premiere date and what network it will be on, but we shall keep you posted. Will you be tuning in to “Platinum House”?

I had to post this because I’m just so ashamed that our people continue to do some dumb a$$ ish! Check this out: Danny Platt, a 22-year-old Black New Orleans man, has been accused of murdering his 2-year-old son, according to the Associated Press. Platt apparently owed his estranged wife $4,000 in back child support. On Friday, several hours after her son, Ja’ Shawn, left to spend time with his Dad (Pratt), Daniella Powell (baby momma) received a phone call. It was Platt. He said their son had been kidnapped and quickly hung up.

After his arrest, Platt confessed to the murder, telling authorities he “would kill either his wife or his child before he paid child support.” Platt has been booked on first-degree murder charges. “I’m sorry about killing my baby,” Platt told reporters. “I had a whole bunch of reasons.”  LIKE WHAT???? OMG!

It is officially confirmed that Aubrey O’Day, former member of Danity Kane, will pose nude for the upcoming issue of Playboy Magazine. It is reported that Aubrey will earn $500,000.00 for the photo shoot. According to New York Daily News, an associate of O’Day says “Aubrey’s making about $500,000 to drop trou (pose naked). For that kind of money, she was like ‘Why not?’”

So I was listening to the Ricky Smiley show this morning and I heard that Jim Jones didn’t start his new year off too good. He turned himself in at the 18th precinct in New York yesterday after being involved in an altercation/fight at a Louis Vuitton store with an associate of Ne-Yo. The details aren’t too clear. I’ve heard different versions of the story, but rumor has it that Jones got into a fight with Ne-Yo or an associate of Jay-Z who now works for Ne-Yo at the Luis Vuitton store on 5th Street in Manhattan. We hear that Ne-Yo got scared and ran out of the store when the fight began…Ricky Smiley and Deez Nuts were clowning on Ne-Yo saying that he was a punk for running off…but maybe he just didn’t want to associate himself with the fiasco. We hear that Lil Kim is extremely unhappy about the new Biggie Biopic (Notorius) and the casting for the film. She said during an interview with Hip Hop Weekly that was unhappy that producers picked Naturi Naughton of 3LW fame to play her. It was also speculated that Kim felt her relationship with B.I.G. was sensationalized. She’s blaming Big’s mother, Ms. Wallace, and wife, Faith Evans, for their involvement. Check out an excerpt from the interview Lil Kim had with Hip Hop Weekly (HHW):

HHW: What are your thoughts on the Biggie movie?

LK: I want the world to be clear; I have NOTHING to do with that movie. That movie is Faith and Ms. Wallace’s story. Most of the story is bullshit especially the way my character is being depicted. There are a lot of lies in the movie. I had no idea it was even going into production, until one day I got a call from my manager at the time, Lance “Un” Riviera, and he said ” Yo! You know they caste this girl Naturi [Naughton] to play you in the Biggie movie,” I was outraged. I was upset, because to me, to do an autobiography about someone’s life, you want it to be as authentic as possible. I was not involved in the movie. They never came and asked me anything about Biggie, but again this was Faith and Ms. Wallace’s movie.

HHW: So it’s safe to say you didn’t approve of the casting?

Okay, I know alot of my readers hate on Usher and Tameka, especially Tameka…but the couple was lookin’ FAB at the New Years Eve Celebration at the Bank Club in Las Vegas. Tameka shocked me the most. The couple just welcomed their second son, Naviyd Ely Raymond on December 10th, and she looks DAMN GOOD in her post baby body…Is it just me?

DANG! Thought we would start off the new year with no beefs…but it didn’t happen. We hear that Janet Jackson is really pissed off at Beyonce’s comments of her family in the latest issue of Elle Magazine. Beyonce tried to explain the difference between her road to success versus some black performers who were struck my economic struggles growing up. “I grew up upper class. Private school. My dad had a Jaguar,” said Beyonce. “We’re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we’re like the Jacksons, but I didn’t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation.” WOW! That was pretty derogatory and offensive don’t you think?

Congrats to Rebecca Romijn and her hubby Jerry O’Connell. The two welcomed twin girls on December 28th, 2008. We hear that Jennifer Hudson is being pursued to perform at the swearing in of President-elect Barack Obama at the Inauguration held January 20th. This would be Hudson’s first public performance since her mother, brother and nephew were murdered.

“Organizers want Jennifer to sing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ at the Inauguration on Jan. 20,” a Page Six reports. “They are talking to Jennifer about it. It would be the first time she performed since the murders. She is from Chicago and a huge Obama supporter.” Read the rest of this entry »

I don’t know how true this is…Its a bit skeptical to me…but supposedly Soulja Boy was robbed by six gunmen in his Georgia home on December 30th. And the crazy thing about it is that the gunmen have released an Internet video claiming they are responsible for the incident.
