Some media reports are revealing that MJ’s body was laid to rest last Thursday. Sources say it was a low-key, private ceremony at Hollywood’s Forest Lawn Cemetery which was attended by a dozen people. The LAPD now believe the 50-year-old singer’s death from a suspected cardiac arrest last month may have been due to an overdose of the anaesthesia Propofol — and Michael’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray could have been involved.

MJ’s father and sister (Letoya) both believe that Michael Jackson’s death was due to “foul play”. Joe Jackson told ABC News this past Friday that he suspect that a second party had something to do with the June 25th death of his son. “I just couldn’t believe what was happening to Michael. We just got word that a very pregnant Jennifer Hudson has been chosen to perform a solo at Michael Jackson’s memorial service that will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles tomorrow. Mariah Carey is supposedly in the line up too. CNN reported that the event will be produced by Ken Ehrlich, who produced the Grammy Awards. (more…)

Yesterday I couldn’t sleep after such a somber day. I watched different media outlets who dedicated their airtime reporting the death of Michael Jackson. The one thing that really bothered me was that the “mainstream” media focused alot on Jackson’s series of scandals during his career. Although The King of Pop had been plagued by financial, legal, and medical woes for years, why don’t they focus on his tremedous “talent” that changed the face of music and our culture? Reverend Al Sharpton said it best at the press conference he held in front of the Appollo Theatre, where the singer performed many times with the Jackson 5. (see video below)

I’m in complete shock right now! Although Michael Jackson was frail and ill, I never thought I would be writing about his death any time soon. I am sad to say that it has been confirmed that Michael Jackson has died at age 50 at UCLA Medical Center. Jackson was rushed to the hospital earlier due to a sudden cardiac arrest, went into a coma, than eventually passed on. Jackson, a global icon, has left a huge legacy behind.
