Despite making public appearances together in the past month, rapper Nas’ divorce from his estranged wife R&B singer Kelis continues on. According to TMZ, Nas lawyer filed court papers yesterday seeking to block Kelis’ request for $72,728 a month in spousal support. (more…)

It was about five months ago.. I was at a gas station in Soho.. He was with two of his homeboys, some 6″3 King Kong black dudes who were driving him around. Nas was pumping gas and I was coming out from buying some snacks (my girls and I were on our way to Jersey for my girls birthday) and I see this dude lookin’ at me, he looked like he was a clean cut big ballin rapper. Point blank period, dude has a ‘big boss aura’. Girl let me tell you! I was trying to place his face, as I was walking closer I saw the mole and placed the face as being Mr.Nasir Jones. Hollaaaa! Right then and there I turned groupie, without a doubt. Gawking and everything. He noticed I wasn’t going to stop for him however so he gave me a whispery low “Hey baby..” I was geeked up. My girls were in the car motioning for me so I gave them the “one minute finger”. After a good 5 minute conversation of him asking the basics, where was I off to.. Who was I rollin with.. Ect. We exchanged numbers, he said he had some business to handle in the city but he’d hit me up that night, around 8. I love a precise brotha! I got in the car and told my girls screw jersey that we could party in the city. I didn’t want to tell them who he was because I thought that considering it was my girls birthday that she would be upset that I wasn’t puttin’ her on with Nas for the night. I convinced them the clubs out here in the city would be better than anything jersey had to offer. (more…)

In a recent interview, Nas has a whole different point of view regarding his divorce to his longtime wifey Kelis. Nas said he deserved a trophy for being a good husband and a dad. Check out the interview here:

“I heard that I was a cheater,” says Nas, who takes on a more determined tone when discussing the matter. “It almost sounds like I was a bad husband. Not to say I was the greatest—I’m not perfect in anything I do—but I think I deserve a fucking trophy. If I do say so myself, without sounding too cocky, I gotta say I was a hell of a husband and a hell of a dad.” On July 22, Kelis gave birth to the couple’s first child together, a boy named Knight Jones, after 67 hours of labour that she called “three of the longest, most painful days” of her life. So now I know why Kelis was leaving subliminal twitter messages about Nas cheating on her. Well, the scoop is Nas got one of his lil “groupies” preggers. Not sure how credible this source is, but I’m just letting y’all know what I heard. As previously reported, Nas will be shelling out approximately $50,000.00 a month in spousal and child support for his son, Knight, with soon-2-b-ex-wife Kelis. WOW!

TMZ has confirmed that a judge ordered Nas to pay Kelis $55,000 a month (combined spousal and child support(44k) ) — plus the mortgage on their L.A. residence. The rapper also has to pay $35,000 to Kelis’ lawyer. Nas’ financial records revealed that he makes over $100,000.00 a month. My question is, what has Nas done lately to be banking that kind of money? So we found out the scoop on why Nas wasn’t allowed to witness the birth of his baby boy, Knight Jones. Well, Nas was performing at a New York location that day and was REALLY DRUNK when he got the call that Kelis was in about to deliver. When he got to the hospital, the doctors requested  that Nas not be present in the delivery room due to his intoxication. SMH! Hot mess!

Kelis and Nas’ named their newborn baby boy Knight Jones. CUTE! In an official statement Kelis’ reps said:

“Kelis gave birth to Knight Jones last night on July 22nd around 9PM. Weighing a healthy 7.8lbs, the beautiful baby boy and his mother are doing wonderful. This was a natural birth and Kelis had been in labor since early Monday morning around 2AM. Knight was delivered in a NYC hospital with her mother and sister in the room.”
