In political news, President-elect Barack Obama plans to nominate Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State after Thanksgiving. President-elect Barack Obama offered Sen. Hillary Clinton the position of Secretary of State during their meeting last Thursday in Chicago, according to two senior Democratic officials. She requested time to consider the offer, the officials said. New York Times quoted Clinton’s friends as saying she was debating between accepting the role or taking on an enhanced role in the Senate. Clinton would have to surrender her Senate seat, which she has held for eight years, to take the job. Obama is convinced the advantages of Clinton serving far outweighed potential downsides, the adviser said. We’ll see what happens!

I’m proud to announce that Barack Obama is winner of the presidential election of November 4, 2008. He is currently the President-elect of the United States of America and is expected to take office as the forty-fourth President of the United States on January 20, 2009. Obama is the FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT and I’m overjoyed to be a part of history.

We will always look back on this day, and remember “YES WE CAN”…This is more than a celebration for black Americans, but a celebration for all of us as Americans. Its time for CHANGE! CHANGE THAT WE CAN BELIEVE IN! “The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep,” Obama cautioned. But WE are on our way!

Singer, Angie Stone, said that she will spend the Election Day taking senior citizens who live in the Summer Hill Apartments in Austell, Georgia to the voting polls. “I feel it is my civic duty to help those who are less fortunate or don’t have the resources to get to the polls…I am trying to aid them in having a voice on one of the most historical election days ever,” says Stone in a statement. “I implore others to do the same…we can change our communities one block at a time,” she says. I love me some T.I. The ATL rapper thought his voting privileges were revoked because as we all know he is a convicted felon. But after doing his research HIMSELF, her learned that under a Georgia law felons are eligible if they’re not currently serving probation or a prison sentence. “It’s a relief,” T.I. express. He stood in line for no more than 10 minutes on Wednesday before entering a polling center in suburban Atlanta to vote for the first time in his life. “This what it is all about, not staying up late and waking up early to vote,” he added. “Now rather than just talking about it, I’m being about it. I’m leading by example, and it makes me feel a lot better.”

SKINHEADS HELD OVER PLOT

Shocking news this weekend. Colin Powell, former secretary of state to President Bush, endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president on Sunday. He said that he is still a Republican, but will back Obama in this Presidential race due to his concerns with his own party. This is what he said on ”Meet the Press:”

I know both of these individuals very well now. I’ve known John [McCain] for 25 years, and I’ve gotten to know Mr. Obama quite well over the past two years. Both of them are distinguished Americans who are patriotic, who are dedicated to the welfare of our country. Either one of them, I think, would be a good president.

I have said to Mr. McCain that I admire all he has done. I have some concerns about the direction that the [Republican] Party has taken in recent years. It has moved more to the right than I would like to see it, but that’s a choice the party makes.

And I’ve said to Mr. Obama, “You have to pass the test of, do you have enough experience, and do you bring the judgment to the table that would give us confidence that you would be a good president?” Read More…

Who watched the debate last night? Some say it was another tit for tat debate amongst the two Presidential Candidates…Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama squared off last night in a fiery presidential debate. McCain seemed like he was trying distance himself from President George W. Bush saying  “Senator Obama, I am not President Bush,” when Obama pointed out that his opponent had voted in favour of four of five Bush budgets despite his relentless criticism of overspending in Washington.
